How to frame a painting to leave it to generations to come?

Pastels, as an art technique, demand specific framing. To protect it from environmental effects, we recommend the following framing kit consisting of:

​

• cardboard (backing part)

• mount

• glass

• frame

​

Frame is chosen according to your interiors.

​

Types of glass include polished silicate, non-reflective or museum antiglare glass. Sometimes polystyrene protective sheets are used instead of glass. Important note: we recommend locating your framed painting out of reach of direct sunlight.

​

Mount is a special firm cardboard creating space between glass and pastels surface. Besides protection, mount also provides a kind of background visually making it a whole with the chosen frame.

​

All materials should be non-acidic to exclude any harmful effects on paper and the pastels used.

​

Which mount to choose? Mount looks the best when matching the painting itself and the frame.  If you are unsure which mount to pick, choose monochrome combinations. A white mount option is universal.

Framing kit items are paid for separately, according to frame shop prices and based on receipts. The chosen kit is assembled with all necessary precaution that your artwork demands.
